General Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions below form an integral part of the contract between you, the student, and us, the camp organiser Maxicamps. These general terms and conditions apply to the services described on our website. The General terms and conditions in French are to be followed in case of discrepancy.

Currency: Prices are given in Swiss francs.

Enrolment fees: CHF 100.- for each enrolment.

Confirmation/Invoice/Course documents: As soon as we receive your enrolment, Maxicamps will send you an invoice/confirmation. Upon receipt of this confirmation, you will be requested to pay a deposit of CHF 500.- per student in order to validate the enrolment. The balance must be paid at the latest 30 days before the start of the course. In case of non-compliance to this deadline, Maxicamps reserves the right to charge you for the full cancellation charges in accordance with our conditions of cancellation. The course documents will be sent to you upon receipt of your full payment, around ten days prior to your departure.

Change of booking: We do our best to accommodate any change requests to already booked courses.
In case of booking changes accepted by the organiser, a handling fee of CHF 100.- per student will be charged.

Cancellation: Should you wish to cancel your study trip, please let us know by registered mail as soon as possible.
A handling fee of CHF 300.- per student will be charged for already booked courses. Should we receive your cancellation less than 30 days before the start of your course an additional cancellation charge will be made at the below rates:
29–20 before start = 30% of invoice total
19–10 days before start = 60% of invoice total
9–0 days before start = 100% of invoice total

Insurance: All students must be covered by a valid health and accident insurance. If necessary, a health and accident insurance policy can be booked at an extra charge through Maxicamps for the length of your stay.

Price changes: We reserve ourselves the right to alter the fees listed on our website in case of major unforeseeable events. If any price rise is more than 10% of the total fees, you have the right, within 10 days of our notification, to end your contract without any cancellation charges.

Responsibility of the organiser: As an organiser of language camps, Maxicamps is responsible for the accuracy of the website content, the judicious choice of service providers, the professional execution of the camps and the timely transmission of travel documents to the point of sale/client. Liability is limited to double the cost of the stay.

Claims: Should you, during your stay, become aware of any carences or wish to make a complaint, get in touch immediately with the school principal and ask for assistance. If your problem cannot be resolved to your satisfaction, do not wait until after your return home, contact Maxicamps or the organisation that sold you the course immediately. We will not consider any eventual complaint unless these conditions have been satisfied. Any complaint must be sent to us in writing within 30 days of the end of your trip otherwise it will be regarded as inadmissible.

Programme changes or cancellation by the organiser: Maxicamps reserves itself the right to alter a programme when compelled to by changes made by one of our service providers or due to any other unforeseeable circumstance or an event outside our control. Maxicamps also reserves the right to cancel a language camp in case of force majeure (war, riots or strikes). Maxicamps also reserves the right to cancel a course or service due to insufficient student numbers. In such an event, we will offer alternatives or refund the fees already paid.

Maxicamps reserves the right to alter course timetables, excursion destinations and sports and leisure activities if necessary.

Rights of the organiser: Maxicamps reserves the right to reject an enrolment without stating any reason and to send a student home if in our opinion the behaviour of that student prejudices the interests of another student or is incompatible with the running of the camps. In such an event, all costs associated with this exclusion, including the costs of travel home, would be the responsibility of the parent or guardian. No refund of course fees will be considered where a student decides to interrupt his or her language study trip prematurely or is sent home for failing to respect our course rules and regulations.
Students may leave valuables for safekeeping with their head of camp. Maxicamps accepts no liability for the loss or theft of items/money not left for safekeeping.
Maxicamps is not responsible in any way for accidents that occur during free time or non-supervised activities/excursions.

Promotional material : Maxicamps reserves the right to retain and use photographs either taken by or showing a participant for promotional purposes. The same applies to anything produced by the participant during the camp.

Applicable law and jurisdiction: Swiss law will apply exclusively to the contractual relationship between Maxicamps and the participant. The place of jurisdiction is Lausanne.
